Illuminatus

An interesting read, which arrived this morning by AmazonPost; already I am on page 47. Obviously it's another one of those massive conspiracy theory/massive secret organisation secretly ruling the earth in secret for millenia, but it's an entertaining read. Unfortunately it has added to the rather long list of books I am currently reading, or failing to read as it may be. Currently in my pile of "I've started so I'll finish" books are: The Science of Discworld 2: The Globe; Plato's Republic; The Illuminatus! Trilogy; The Unbearable Lightness of Being; Monkey; and some more that I can't recall the name of just now. Must sit down and make an effort of finishing some of them.

Aside from not reading coherantly, I'm having a caffeine rush at the moment as I just drank a far too strong coffee without milk as it's gone off, and my office is as usual far too warm as the heating has turned on and the two hot water ducts in my office are radiating at a rate of knots, bah. Speaking of knots, the huge storm we had in the early hours of Sunday was splendid, 90mph winds are terribly exciting. Unfortunately, some people died, although one has to wonder about the logic of two young boys walking in a park early on a Sunday morning WHEN THERE ARE 90MPH WINDS. What were the parentals thinking? Although they probably didn't know to be fair, as I was always sneaking out on my bike early in the morning when I was a kid. The child in the push-chair getting squashed by a falling oak tree was just silly though. I mean really, are people that stupid? It seems so.
