Men-an-tol.

Not just the name of a hippah Levellers song, it actually means something too, "Stone with a Hole", in Cornish. I've decided to do a bit of a tour of ancient standing stones and earthworks, mainly because it's something to do and I like old stuff like that, it gives me a very eerie feeling. Here is a map of the places I'm going to start with. On sunday I'm hoping to get to Avebury

, where the largest standing stone circle in the world is. Also in the area is the West Kennet Avenue, an ancient walkway lined with stones and a long barrow close by, and Silbury Hill, which is a massive earthwork. I shall post pics should I succeed in my endeavour.
