Well I must say the flatsitting is going absolutely splendidly. Even the commute from Slough to Twickenham isn't too bad, taking approximately an hour each way. Perfectly manageable for two weeks. I hear stuii's having a splendid holiday, let's just hope I can keep the place reasonably tidy till he gets back. I have discovered the disadvantages of having a light wood finish floor, it shows up absolutely *everything*. Therefore I propose to give it a damn good mopping before the guv'na' gets back. Made a huge vat of bolognase (recipe available hyah), most of which I have bunged in the freezer for another day. Tastes good, although hasn't got the usual richness I expect, probably cos I used vegetable instead of chicken stock, and Tossco's Vileue Tomatos. Oh and no Worcester sauce either, poor show. I'm also failing in my quest to watch EVERY SINGLE STARGATE SG-1 EPISODE in two weeks, mainly because I can't be arsed. Bought myself a cdrom/dvd combi unit from PC world though. Does the job very nicely, although obviously purists will deride it for one reason or another. Must stop buying things. Haircut and Episode II tonight.

Unfortunately access has been a little shaky of late, seems the hosting co-lo is having a bout of the hiccoughs from time to time and keeps dropping things. Not acceptable in my opinion. I'm sure it's not an ongoing thing, it better not be, or else. A point of note, the "cookery" pages seems to crash Mozilla. This is strange because it uses the same CSS and template as the other pages, but none of the other pages seem to crash it. I've been told there are some erroneous features of the CSS, so I'll have a poke around when I get a moment.

Pakistan and India: What the bloody hell are you playing at. The prospect of even LOCAL THERMONUCLEAR DESTRUCTION is a terrible, terrible thing, yet nobody really seems to be taking it seriously. Where is Dubyuh, self styled protector of the free world? JUST GO IN THERE, AND TAKE THEIR TOYS AWAY. End of story. Oh but, I forgot, this "WAR AGAINST TERRORISM" only applies where the "terrorists" are directly threatening the United States doesn't it. One doesn't see the USA sending troops into Israel, Ireland, Spain, India, Russia or various other nations where terrorism is endemic. Particularly so when certain terrorist operations are actively supported and funded by the "great american people". Sounds rather hypocritical to me. Doubly so when one considers that the USA is actively tacking terrorism that threatens the USA directly, and not other countries that may be victims of terrorists that don't have an active boggle with the USA. This coupled with the "you're either for us, or against us" mantra repeated by Dubyuh time after time seems to suggest that "you're either in favour of the USA ruling the entire world, or we will destroy you", does it not? Perhaps I'm being overly cynical. I expect I'll be hauled away by the CIA for this blog. Been nice knowing you.
