Thpthpthppt.
Well, the weather is appaulingly hot and sticky, and I'm very close to flipping out entirely. Several nights of bad sleep (well, over a week) due to the extreme humidity, not helped by being woken up every morning at 4am by the sun blazing through curtains left open to catch any breeze that may pass. More often than not it didn't. And last night, after sweating it out and trying to chase the bad things away, I got to sleep at midnight, only to be woken up at 3am by very loud thunder, with each peal starting out quiet and getting progressively louder, like an echo in reverse. Most odd. I'm not usually at all scared by thunder but when you're fast asleep and you're woken up with a BOOM so loud it rattles your teeth, you tend to be a bit shaken. So, teeth rattling, sweating, and scared, splendid way to spend a night. Then I eventually went back to half-sleep dreaming about running from tornados and such while listening to the thunder outside. So I woke up late and was half an hour late for work, with no time for a breakfast or to have shower.
Good weekend all told, apart from the spending too much money part, but I've gone past caring about that now. Spent a splendid saturday morning at Borough Market, loading up on fruit and veg, oggling girls and eating Ostriches. Didn't see Jamie Oliver. The variety and quality of things on sale there is quite remarkable. I bought a chocolate brownie that took me 18 hours to eat. Bananas, Aubergine, Orange, Lemon, Broccoli, and so forth. Then got the lot home, and drove to HOO HING oriental supermarket, where I didn't see Ainsley Harriot. Bought lots of cheap oriental stuff, and spent some time smirking at the WANG and CHELLORA breakfast cereal, I'm sure things are given obscene names on purpose. Bought some SEA DYKE Jasmine tea. Went to Tesco on sunday, so all in all, spent about £70 on food this weekend. Which I hope will last about 5 weeks or I'm completely boned.
